Biz Kid$ Celebrates Women's History Month

March is here! Translation: Women’s History Month is upon us. While every month should entail such celebration, this month offers a special reminder to commemorate the seismic contributions of women and girls in our society. At Biz Kid$, our passion for entrepreneurship and financial literacy channels our celebration into two categories today: girl founders and girl investors.

First, founders. We could exhaust our digital ink explaining the virtues of female entrepreneurship, or we could prove it. Let’s prove it. Without further ado, behold this collection of some of the most impressive young entrepreneurs we’ve ever met. They just so happen to be girls.

Now, about those girl investors…last year, we broke down the girl power impact on investing in a post entitled, “Numbers Don’t Lie: Girls Make Better Investors.

Here’s an excerpt from that discussion:

A Merrill Lynch survey of more than 2,500 women found that women express the same level of confidence as men in almost every area of life. Except investing. But get this: they tend to perform better at investing than men. Why? First, they’re willing to ask for help, and they’re more likely to save. So what’s left? Believing that they have what it takes. Now that’s something we can work with.

As a parent, you have the opportunity to help your daughter uncover the gold that’s within her. For her financial life, that means showing her how the innate abilities she already possesses make her well-suited for investing. And her time? It’s worth every single dime that her brother’s is.

Oh, and about that investing confidence… Let’s toss it to Candace Parker to share some girl power, money-style, with the world:
